Throughout Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota, as winter slips away and maple trees reach peak sap production, Maple Syrup festivals lure gluttons outdoors

Parke County Maple Syrup Fair - Parke County Fairgrounds North of Rockville, Indiana - February 23 & 24 March 1 & 2, 2008 - Join Parke County Maple Producers at the fairgrounds and enjoy pancake meal furnished by Parke County Inc. Shopping, arts, crafts and foods for everyone delight.

Indiana Pure Maple Syrup Festival - Leane and Michael's Sugarbush, Salem, Indiana - February 23 & 24 March 1 & 2, 2008 - This family farm in scenic Southern Indiana produces between 500 and 700 gallons of pure maple syrup every February and March. The steamy, wood-fired evaporator is where the maple sap is boiled into thick, mouth-watering maple syrup.

National Maple Syrup Festival - Burton's Maplewood Farm, Medora, Indiana - March 1-2 & 8-9, 2008 - Maple syrup from every state that produces natural nectar including Vermont Maple Syrup and Ohio Maple. Tours, syrup making demonstrations, live entertainment, a petting zoo. children’s play area and festive food for the whole family.

32nd Annual Maple Syrup Family Festival - Malabar Farm, Lucas, Ohio - March 1-2, 8-9, 2008 - Take a horse-drawn wagon ride and see demonstrations of sugar making through history and pioneer life. Also enjoy live music and food. Maple syrup, fudge and maple products will be for sale.

Maple Syrup Festival - Hueston Woods State Park, Ohio - March 1-2, 8-9, 2008 - Join us at the main beach parking area. Explore the process of maple sugaring from the methods used by Indians to the modern methods used today. A pancake breakfast is offered from 7 am to 1 pm for a small fee. Tours of the sugar bush.

Maple Sugaring in the Hills - Hocking Hills Maple Farm, Ohio - March 8 & 9, 2008 - Noon-4 PM at the naturalist cabin behind the Old Man’s Cave visitor center • Discover the many methods used to make this tasty treat from local maple sap • Free samples are available • A pancake breakfast is offered at the dining lodge for a fee.

Maple Syrup Festival - Indian Lake State Park, Ohio - March 15-16, 2008 - Tour the sugar bush and sugar shack, then enjoy hayrides and a pancake & syrup breakfast for a fee.

Geauga County Maple Festival - Chardon, Ohio – March 27-30, 2008 - Established in 1926. Visit the Pancakes in the Park tent and get your fill of all-you-can-eat pancakes!

Chicago Park District Maple Syrup Festival - North Park Village Nature Center, Chicago, Illinois – March 29 & 30, 2008 - Come and see the entire maple syrup-making process from tapping the tree and collecting the sap, to boiling it down into syrup. Walks through the sugar bush, storytelling, and tastings of real maple syrup fresh off the fire. Free and fun for all ages.

Maple Syrup Festival - Saint John's Arboretum, Collegeville, Minnesota - March 29 & April 5, 2008 - Sap collecting, syrup cooking, horse-drawn rides, demonstrations, and hot maple syrup sundaes await the whole family during this fun-filled event! Registration/Check-in will be near the Saint John's Prep School on the Old Entrance.

Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival - Wakarusa, Indiana – April 18 & 19, 2008 - Here in Wakarusa the Maple Syrup Festival committee takes our Festival events seriously, so all of our friends and visitors have plenty of things to see and do.

Vermontville Maple Syrup Festival - Maple Manor, Vermontville, Michigan - April 25-27, 2008 - All day Friday, Saturday and Sunday with maple syrup making demonstrations.
